Pink’s Concrete Enhances Virginia Beach Condo Floors

Pink’s Concrete Design recently completed a condominium flooring project in Virginia Beach. As a coastal town situated on the southern shore, Virginia Beach experiences hazardous storms and flooding that can damage buildings.

This particular condominium was located directly on the beachfront. The client, the owners association, was concerned about the condition of the exterior floors around the main entrances.

After years of weathering storms and exposure to moisture, the concrete floors had become uneven and unsightly. Making matters worse a layer of green carpet had been placed over the concrete years ago by maintenance. The damp environment had bread mold growth in the saturated carpet. The stench had become overpowering. Pink’s team was brought in to address the issue. The first step was carefully removing the moldy carpet. At four stories tall and covering an area of 5 feet wide by the building’s length, it was a sizable job while residents were still living on site.

The team diamond ground the exposed concrete over two days to level the surface. A two part exterior concrete coating provided a durable, vehicular traffic rated overlay that would set to 500 PSI strength within a month. The team applied two coats of medium gray fine product, lightly sanded and cleaned the surface. To complete the project, two topcoats of water based urethane were applied for a long lasting protective finish. The association was pleased with the upgraded low maintenance flooring solution provided by Pink’s team.

Pink’s Concrete Design recently faced a major flooring challenge at a beachfront condominium in Virginia Beach. As a coastal town situated on the southern Atlantic coast Virginia Beach experiences its fair share of hazardous storms and flooding. This can seriously damage the buildings near the shoreline over time. The client, the owners association, was concerned about the deteriorating condition of the exterior concrete floors surrounding the main entrances. Years of weathering storms had left the surfaces uneven and unsightly.

Even worse at some point maintenance had tried to cover up the issues with a layer of green carpet. Pink’s team was hired to address the situation. Their first task was to carefully peel back the moldy carpet, which covered an area of 5 feet wide by the building’s entire length across 4 levels. It was a sizable removal project made more difficult by residents still occupying the property.

After disposing of the hazardous material, the concrete below was exposed for repair. To complete the job, Pink’s team added two protective topcoats of a water based urethane to provide a lasting, low maintenance flooring solution. The owners association was quite pleased with the upgraded exterior spaces now protected from the coastal elements.

Pink’s Concrete Design successfully transformed the worn, mold-infested exterior floors of the beachfront condo into a sleek, resilient surface that can withstand the harsh coastal environment. Their meticulous process and high-quality materials ensured a long-lasting solution, greatly improving the property’s appearance and durability.
