Daughter Dumpling Weston MA 37 Center Street 02493

This project done by Pink’s Concrete Design was a highly decorative floor. The General contractor wanted a grey mottled concrete floor solution. The floor was not perfectly level, and wanted a tile look that was intensive ,and needed to be cut by hand. First the solution was to apply Rapid set TRU self leveling overlay. Obviously the floor needed to be prepped for the application. Once we had a solid base to deal with Ardex SDM was applied to the overlay in white. This gave Pink’s Concrete Artist the foundation it needed.

Saw cuts were made by using a 1/8th inch diamond blade. After the micro topping was cleaned with a bio degradable degreaser, the art work started. Pink’s used Smith Paints concrete dyes and stains with multiple variations of grey. They we basically order-less but Pink’s needed to airbrush square by square, that we cut on a 45 degree angles from the front entrance. Two coats of solvent based acrylic seller were applied to give protect. As I urge all clients too use epoxy and spent the extra money, especially in New England when weather can be harsh, and salts and sand will be tracked through, it can take away from the natural look of a the concrete flooring. Most client tend to not listen. Solvent based acrylic depending on foot traffic will need to be resealed. Most client don’t reseal of use an 30% solid epoxy wax. They can’t afford to shut down for a day, which causes the floor to deteriorate. The owners of Daughter Dumpling were great to work with as well as the General contractor. Any deterioration can be repaired if needed for a minimal cost.

Our experience applicators put an Epoxy coating with a sand broadcast in the back areas. This is non skid and 100 percent solid. This means nothing can penetrate the flooring, the employees will not have any slip hazards, and is best for kitchen areas. The local inspectors love the product because it passes all environmental laws. This project took approximately 5 days, and was 1500 square feet. Pink’s charged 10 dollars per square foot.
