Case Study Wilton CT 06897 Concrete Patio

Concrete Patios can be aesthetically appealing or can fail over time. This project in Wilton Connecticut was done over concrete that was failing. Pink’s Concrete Design needed to do a concrete resurfacing  micro topping. Mapei the highest quality material with a long history in the concrete flooring, and overlays, amongst other of their many materials was used in the industry were used.  The Concrete Patio had to first be prepped. The old concrete substrate was diamond grinded. Then all cracks were filled with an epoxy coating. Other areas of the Concrete floor needed to be patched with Mapei quick patch. This material is one of the best in the industry. It dries extremely fast, letting us do a quick sanding to the area.
During winter months in New England the patio will deteriorate. Snow, ice,and weather play a critical role. Using a nonskid solvent based or water based sealer , will only last so long. It is important that the client understands, that this is not a one time deal. Pink’s has maintenance contracts to go to the clients house every year to access. This saves the clients money in the long run. Nothing is free, and forever. We don’t charge much as we try to maintain a good relationship with each client. We know contractors around the country as we work in multiple regions.

The Decorative Concrete Coating, was then lightly acid stained. to produce a color the client wanted. All acid stains and dyes can be controlled. We used a water based product since the pool was not closed off, but plastic was applied to protect the pool from contamination. Concrete saw cut were diamond grinded to prevent cracks in the concrete patio surface. Then injected with epoxy. The non skid was very important to the client for the children. We used shark grit from Sherwin Williams. The project went well and took 5 days. Pink’s concrete Design charged 14 dollar per square foot. Please call 646 703 1115 for any inquires.

  1. To install a new concrete patio on an old concrete surface, assess the condition of the existing surface, clean and prepare it for adhesion, install expansion joints, pour the new concrete at the appropriate thickness and slope, and apply a finishing coat for protection and appearance.
